Needed actors

Director Hang Luong Nguyen (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm11075141/) is casting for SUPERMARKET AFFAIRS, a bittersweet dramedy short about a Vietnamese immigrant mother struggles to reconnect with her adult daughter after the death of the family patriarch.
This is a UT Austin MFA Pre-thesis short film to be shot in Austin, TX in early December 2021. The film will be showcased to other UT graduate students & faculty who are active filmmakers in Austin, and submitted to film festivals in early 2022.
Seeking actors NATIONWIDE for following roles:
- MRS. HOA (50 - 65, female, Vietnamese): A middle-aged Vietnamese woman who recently moved to America to live with her only daughter. Spirited and a go-getter back home, she has a hard time having to depend on her daughter with the smallest things. FLUENCY IN VIETNAMESE IS A MUST.
- HA (25 - 35, female, Vietnamese): Ha went to college in the US and stayed on afterwards. Being away from home for a long time, she has put down roots here and feels a disconnection with her own mother and culture, especially after the death of her father. FLUENCY IN VIETNAMESE IS A MUST.
Seeking actors local to TEXAS for following roles:
- HANDSOME MAN (40 - 65, male, East/Southeast Asian): A handsome, mysterious patron at a local Asian supermarket that Mrs. Hoa develops a fantasy about.
- JOHN (25 - 35, male, all ethnicities): Ha's boyfriend. A lovable millennial.
- CASHIER (30 - 45, female, all ethnicities): A bored cashier at the local Asian supermarket that Mrs. Hoa frequents.
TIMELINE & OTHER DETAILS
- Auditions to be held mid to late October.
- Rehearsals to be held in November.
- Shooting dates: December 1-5, 2021.
- Shooting location: Austin, TX.
- Covid safety measures enforced throughout the shoot. Free tests provided.
