2) CHARIS (FEMALE, SCREEN AGE 30-35) Single working mother, lawyer. Stern, pragmatic, responsible - has a cold and hard-to-read demeanour at first but has a heart.
3) JARED (MALE, SCREEN AGE 5-7) An innocent but difficult child who has mild autism. Has a strong emotional bond with Maria and so he tends to listen to her.
