STORY SYNOPSIS: When a superstitious Chinese family moves into a new house, a series of incidents leads the son, Yi to believe that there is a ghost among them. Things take a turn for the worst when the family lets their superstitions get the best of them.
CHARACTER BIOS:
YI [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 9-12][ASIAN]
Chinese boy born and raised in Canada, living with his immigrant parents. After expressing disapproval for moving, Yi's family ignores his sentiments and moves into a new house. Yi does everything he's told by his Mother- Because he loves and seeks validation from her. Yi quickly believes the house to be haunted and struggles to convince his parents.
DAD [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 35-40] [ASIAN/SPEAKS FLUENT MANDARIN]
Father of Yi. Cool immigrant parent and adapted to being "American" after years living in the country. He is a realist, doesn't believe in anything: religion, superstitions, etc. He will step on others if that means his family will succeed, even if it crosses the line
MOM [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 35-40] [ASIAN/SPEAKS FLUENT MANDARIN]
Mother of Yi. Strong believer of "old ways", including tradition and superstitions. She feels tremendous guilt that she hides well. She's a true immigrant parent, speaks Mandarin although her English is fully functional. Strong motherly qualities, will put the family before herself. She thinks of Yi as a kid and wants to protect him from the harsh realities of how the world works. She is blessing Yi with ignorance.
ELIZABETH [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 25-30]
She wants revenge but has been waiting it out. She's strategic about it but she's waiting in one location for weeks... Emotionally unstable- she has lost everything including her husband. She is grieving but she hasn't even processed her loss properly. Has a lot of built up anger she's been suppressing most of her life.
